Outdoor Recreation
Three Favorite Outdoor Places
1) Manhattan Beach- This is one of my favorite spots to go to during the summer. The atmosphere is very mellow, the sound of the waves is relaxing, and the pier has a fun small aquarium fit for all ages to see marine wildlife.

2) Griffith Park- The outdoors and scenic view of mountains and LA make this location a wonderful place to unwind. Not to mention that an observatory is also available to view stars and gaze at planets.

3) Ablone Cove- The best mix of hiking and the ocean! In order to get to the ocean, one must hike down some trails. As an added bonus there are tide pools in which one can observe marine wildlife.

Three Favorite Outdoor Activities
Swimming- One of my favorite ways to have fun is swimming at the beach. I like to dive and jump in the waves. I'd follow my dad to the deep side so that we could catch the high waves. This is an unstructured activity because I have to be self-aware of my actions and think for myself while swimming and diving to avoid a wave crashing on me.
Hiking- There is nothing better than starting my day with a morning hike with my family. Its a good physical workout and mental clearance. The best park to do this is at Griffith park. This is an unstructured activity because it promotes resilient growth and physical strengthening using a lot of energy and lower body movements to power through the trails.
Basketball- Having family that is active is an advantage because they help promote a healthy lifestyle and I could socialize and interact with them. Growing up I watched my dad and uncles play basketball for fun in the backyard and park. They taught me what they know so that later on when I was old enough to play they would let me join. This activity is structured because it involves teamwork cooperation and strategy when dealing with a group of people that have the same objective in the game to win.
